Truth Memphis Basketball believes in giving back to the Memphis community. One of the ways we do that is our backback giveaway at the start of the school year.

We recently hosted the 2025 Annual School Backpack Giveaway at Bert Ferguson Community Center on August 2nd and it was a tremendous success thanks to many volunteers, including Sable Otey Shelby, County School board member for District 5 (seen in the image below serving hot dogs). We distributed 500 backpacks filled with school supplies to students in need. The event featured numerous vendors, and the local police department generously provided free steering wheel locks to attendees. It was a fantastic event that brought the community together and made a positive impact.
